At this workshop you will learn:
- The difference between hypermobility, flexibility, Generalised Joint Hypermobility (GJH), Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD), and Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome
- A summary of some of other conditions that can present with GJH (including Marfan’s Syndrome and Loey-Dietz Syndrome)
- How to not get overwhelmed and figure out where to start with addressing your symptoms
- Tips for communicating with healthcare providers
- An introduction to musculoskeletal injuries in hypermobile connective tissue as well as an overview of treatment/management options such as manual therapy, braces, and mobility aids
- An introduction to disability in the context of hypermobility
- Actionable lifestyle changes for hypermobile bodies
There will also be time allocated for a Q+A.
